About The British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The British & Irish Boxing Authority is a professional boxing Governing, Sanctioning and Licensing organisation that operates primarily within the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In April 2017 The British & Irish Boxing Authority became the first European Professional Boxing Governing and Sanctioning Organisation to become hundred percent compliant with the American Federal Act \u2013 15 US Code Chapter 89 Professional Boxing Safety of 1996, commonly known as the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As such we at the British & Irish Boxing Authority are determined to do our utmost best for BIBA licensed professional boxers, whether they are just starting their career or are battle hardened veterans.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The British & Irish Boxing Authority\u2019s primary focus \u2013 besides the licensing of professional boxers and their coaching, management and promotional agents, sanctioning of professional boxing events, as well as the training and licensing of officials \u2013 is the raising of medical protection standards for the sport, to ensure that the health and safety of the young men and women that participate in the sport, as well as the application of the Association Of Boxing Commissions (ABC) Unified Rules and Regulations for Professional Boxing events.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA) has affiliation with many World Boxing Championship organisations, as well as a number of regional Championship organisations.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

in 2017 The British & Irish Boxing Authority assigned the BIBA Championships to the Professional Boxing Council (PBC), as the British & Irish Boxing Authority prepare to be the first European Professional Boxing Governing and Sanctioning organisation to be a hundred percent compliant with the American Federal Act \u2013 15 US Code Chapter 89 Professional Boxing Safety Act of 1996, commonly known as the Muhammad Ali Boxing Reform Act<\/p>\n

In 2018 the British & Irish Boxing Boxing Authority signed up to the Mental Health Charter for Sports & Recreation as well as created a new Health & Safety Executive website \u2013 www.boxbiba.co.uk<\/a> \u2013 to provide information and resources for BIBA license holders with regard to all Health & Safety procedures as well as related research and resources on these matters as well as Mental Health awareness.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

In August 2018 the British & Irish Boxing Authority (BIBA) became the first commission to receive authorisation from the Association of Professional Boxing Commissions (APBC) to offer APBC Accredited Referee & Judge courses, not just for BIBA officials but all Commission\u2019s officials world-wide.<\/p>\n
